Nicholas Robinson is a graphic designer living in Cote des Neiges. His tastes run mainly to red meat, though the occasional shrimp, salmon and tuna have met their untimely ends upon his plate. A hallmark of his reviews is the affronted, "why-me" tone that usually runs throughout. If you see him approaching your resto, get out your best steak—or run away.

Barry Lazar, Montreal Gazette writer and unruffleable boulevardier, has graciously offered to fill this space pretty much as he sees fit, which will include providing reviews, musings, recipes and scholarly research about food. He has written several books about Montreal and its inhabitants and is usually to be found working on another one. Visit him at Barry's Page or Flavourguy.

RestoSpy chooses to remain anonymous. All we can tell you is that he deftly sponges off his corporate colleagues, accepting invitations to the city's best restaurants with a coterie of suspect hangers-on, and reports back to us with panache and intrigue. He is tall, thin and handsome; that's what to tell your "restaurant reviewer spotters" to identify him before he comes in to lay waste to YOUR high-priced eatery.

That Girl From Vancouver is Shelley MacDonald Beaulieu, having landed here on Planet Montreal to survey the indigenous life forms and the things they consume to sustain themselves. Having initially declared the invasion a success, Shelley pretends to lead a normal life as a successful writer and recipe-simplifier by day, but by night she prowls in search of Montreal's finest offerings, findings to be dutifully reported back to the home planet—and us.
