Marc de Canck's little restaurant is the place to be reconciled with American nouvelle cuisine. Do you want to know a secret? When Toqué! is booked solid, this is where they send people. All the dishes are both a gourmet's delight and a visual feast—it's sacrileglous (but oh, so rewarding) to so much as disturb the tableau with one's fork. The chef is nearly perfectionist to a fault, winning Natrel's dessert competitions with an alarming—and much deserved—regularity, You'll leave here convinced you've been to lotus land. Generous portions. A wine list featuring a selection of 250 labels, a reasonable percentage of which are avallable by the glass. Homemade bread.

Sample menu: Scallop-stuffed ravioli with sun-dried tomato and almond pesto, headcheese on barley risotto with a wild mushroom salsa and gruyère cheese, Loulou dressing over calf's liver collop, bok choy calf sweetbread accompanied by coconut milk polenta, pecan pie with Jack Daniel's, soufflé glacé de la passion, chocolate and Chicouteh marmalade monolith.
