A good example of the growing popularity of African food, in this case Eritrean- Ethiopian. All main dishes are served on one huge colourful platter, atop soft, spongy injera, the traditional bread. You use it and additional servings to pick up the morsels.
Two basic sauces ace used with all meats chosen, a bitingly hot Berber sauce and a milder but spicy allitcha sauce. The chicken and lamb, along with a variety of vegetables and each of the sauces, proved both filling and delicious. There was also an exceptional Berber salad to start. Main dishes range between $6.95 and $11.95. Lunchtime table d'hote is $4.95 to $6.95 on weekdays.
