The cooking of Taiwan is known for its wide variety of soups, and that's what's offered at Ting Hao, which opened late last year and was still showing some growing pains when visited. (The premises once housed Sala Thai, which has since moved uptown to glory.)
Sample one of the 35 or 40 different teas and tea-based drinks ("puppy-love green tea," "passionfruit milk tea," "drunk lady") while you peruse the menu. The house specialty is "seafood and mountain mutton fondue" ($10), a pot of chicken broth on a gas-burner with a range of things to cook in the broth, which thus becomes a savoury soup.
